colette x Dour Darcels is a collection of 1/1 NFTs, uniting the two entities who have collaborated together on various projects for over 10 years. From exhibitions to products and events, colette and Darcel have joined forces on a wide variety of projects culminating in their joint collection for IKEA.
March 20 marks 25 years since colette first opened their doors and 10 years since Darcel’s ‘150/15’ exhibition at colette, to celebrate the anniversaries we are releasing 25 unique NFTs. Each creates a visual snapshot of the colette and Darcel worlds - the friends and strangers you would see from around the globe in the store, all coming together as one community.
Founded in 1997, colette was known globally as the first "concept store". Since its opening, the store revolutionized the retail model by fusing luxury fashion with streetwear, art, beauty, lifestyle, and more, opening a new world of unexpected collaborations that many retailers and brands are now adopting. It was a champion of emerging talent for 20 years and sat at the center of fashion until its closing in 2017.
Dour Darcels are a collection of 10,000 moody frens from the world of Darcel Disappoints. Darcel has been documenting the highs and lows of life online since 2008 and he has been published worldwide including in The New York Times and Vogue.
Darcel has collaborated with the likes of Coca Cola, Adidas Originals, Uniqlo, and mostly importantly - colette. For over 10+ years they worked together on projects like Darcel exhibitions and collaborative projects with brands like IKEA.
